+We are grateful to the referee for the helpful comments and
+suggestions concerning our first draft. We have addressed each
+mentioned point in our revised draft as follows (the order of the
+points corresponds to the order of the referee report):
+
+- We extended section 5 regarding the connection to the TRB3 platform.
+  We improved the figures belonging to section 6 clarifying the
+  results of the measurement. This should enable people without a HEP
+  background to understand the experiment better. The authors are
+  still convinced that these sections show the applicability of the
+  platform in "real-life" environments, which is an important feature
+  of a DAQ system, and hence are not superfluous.
+
+- We increased the size of figure 1b as much as possible and added a
+  short description in the corresponding section 3.1.
+
+- We clarified the description of the misusage of the FPGA resources.
+
+- Figure 3b was enlarged as much as possible and is at least readable
+  in the online version of the PDF.

+- We added a very new reference addressing the current status and
+  ideas regarding the temperature compensation schemes.
